Join: Committees
We encourage RWCC Members to join one of these committees. Committee leaders, chairs, and contact information are listed in the semester's handout. Volunteers are always welcome! Your time, skills, and energy are valued and will contribute. A Committee Fair is sometimes held during rehearsal time early in each season.

Concert Production
Without the Concert Production Committee, there would be no performance! You should consider joining this team if you want to:
- help find non-singing volunteers
- address any logistic in our performance space
- write/direct/act in sketches
- design choreography, mime acts, etc. for selected songs
- design/produce/obtain props and special costumes
- suggest ways to best use stage space available to us
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee is crucial to the success of RWCC. Without it, we couldn't afford our concert venue! You should consider joining if you want to:
- suggest fundraising events suitable for RWCC and/or help carry them out
- solicit donations for RWCC from local businesses and/or individuals — money and/or items for silent auctions, raffles, garage sales and other fundraisers
- write grant applications/proposals
- suggest and/or help produce RWCC merchandise
Music Selection
One of our most popular committees is the Music Selection Committee which is responsible for helping find and select music for our concerts each season. You should consider joining this committee if you want to:
- have a say regarding the theme and repertoire of the next concert
- suggest and implement any lyrics changes (if necessary)
- suggest songs for solos or small groups
- suggest themes to consider for future concerts
Please note that in order to participate in the selection of concert repertoire, you must be either an RWCC performer or a Production Committee member (or both) during the season for which you are selecting the music.
Outreach
The RWCC takes pride in being a part of the Greater Rochester community and our Outreach Committee helps provide us with ways to give back to that community. You should consider joining this team if you want to:
- make the RWCC more visible
- suggest/coordinate events where we could sing
- suggest/coordinate collaborations with other local choral and non-profit groups
- suggest charitable organizations we could dedicate concerts to
Publications & Media (P&M)
Without the Publications and Media Committee, no one would know about the chorus! Join this team if you want to help with Public Relations. Help us:
- recruit new members
- advertise our concerts and fundraising activities
- design or distribute our concert posters, tickets, and programs
- write articles for our monthly newsletters
- improve the appearance of our printed and/or online publications
- help keep our website current
Social & Retreat
The RWCC is a second family to many of our members. The bonds form while we sing at rehearsals but continue outside of chorus as well. This committee helps provide us with fun and productive retreats and opportunities to relax, socialize and engage with each other beyond just singing. You should consider joining this committee if you want to:
- plan fun activities for the retreat and advertise it among choristers
- coordinate meals
- prepare the retreat site and coordinate cleanup afterwards
- select and book a location for next season’s retreat
- help organize social activities for chorus members and their families
- make sure the chorus has refreshments and water during each rehearsal
- help with child-care/pet-sitting arrangements for chorus members during rehearsals, concerts, board meetings, etc.
- solicit donations for the Snoopy Fund and suggest its best use
- secure locations for end-of-season potlucks and/or after concert parties
- secure locations and food for concert after-parties
- come up with a better name for this committee!
